camp and create

Have you wanted to spend more time outdoors in the woods but aren't quite sure where to start? Do you enjoy learning new things? Are you creative or would you like to be? If you answered yes to any of these questions Knitting In The Wild's Camp & Create is the place for you.

Set in Minnesota State Parks or other close to nature venues, Camp & Create weekends are small groups of people getting together to enjoy good company, great food and make pretty things. With a campy vibes but no tents, Camp & Create has been designed to provide the space in order for you to get outdoors, enjoy nature, feed your creativity, and maybe ignite

a new passion.

Currently Camp & Create weekends are usually opened about 120 days before camp. These are not at giant retreat centers and as such they are more of a pop up retreat. So check back often and fill out the form below to get on our email list so you can be the first to hear about new weekends.

CAMP & CREATE WEEKEND - SPRING

Dates: FRIDAY, MAY 6 - SUNDAY, MAY 8, 2022

Single Occupancy - $500

Double Occupancy - $350

Treat yourself this Mother's Day! Give yourself the gift of a weekend in a cozy cabin, by a lake, with other creative people learning something new!

Knitting In The Wild Camp & Create weekends have been designed to provide the space and campy vibe for you to get outdoors, enjoy nature, and tap into the creative side of yourself. Normally we stay in camper cabins at State Parks but for this spring edition of Camp & Create we will be staying at the very adorable Campfire Bay Resort. The mission is to bring like-minded people together, close to nature, to become friends, share, learn and inspire!

The weekend is geared towards creativity! Since the weather in Minnesota in May can still be slightly unpredictable, we will be staying in the duplex cabins Cedar and Birch of Campfire Bay Resort. Choose from single or double rooms and share common spaces with others as well as having meals together. We will have plenty of space to work on our project, laugh, and tell stories. Campfire Bay Resort is on Fish Trap Lake in Cushing, MN. The views will be worth it!

Mini American Foursquare Embroidery - Please welcome teacher Amy Munson! Amy will be teaching her beautiful American Foursquare Embroidery. She will supply the kit and it is part of your camping fee. Photo by Amy Munson

With the simple embroidery techniques Amy teaches, you will be creating a mini work of art. Give it away as a gift or keep it for yourself!

Maximum of 10 campers. Once registered you will be sent an itinerary, more detailed information, and a list of what items you should bring to camp in a series of emails over the course of the next few weeks.

Camp fee includes:

  • Single or double occupancy room at Campfire Bay Lodge (see reservation page for details on rooms)

  • Two dinners and two breakfasts (the hubs is a chef and he always makes sure the food at camp is top notch!)

  • Supplies to make one mini embroidery hoop

  • Swag! Is it even a retreat without swag?

  • PRIZES!

Other fun things at camp:

  • The resort has a spa! Give yourself another Mother's Day treat and get a massage! Arrangements must be made in advance and the information for that can be found an the restort's website.

  • Sitting by the lake

  • Nature walks

  • Sitting around the fireplace with new friends making great memories.

Minimum of 6 campers. In the unlikely case that we cancel the retreat due to too few participants, a full refund will be given.
